About this route

Cravath Lake is a man-made lake just north of downtown Whitewater. The loop around it is flat, mostly shaded, and runs on a mix of paved and crushed-gravel paths. It’s the best entry-level route in town — visible, well-lit at dusk, and easy to step off if your day is going sideways.

Variations

  • 1 lap (1.5 mi): good warm-up or recovery run
  • 2 laps (3.0 mi): approximate 5K
  • 3 laps (4.5 mi): standard easy day
  • 4 laps + a downtown extension (~6 mi): add E. Main St → S. Wisconsin St → return

Notes

  • Watch for fishermen with lines crossing the path on the south side
  • Park parking lot fills up Saturday mornings — street parking on Main usually open
  • Restroom + water fountain at the park pavilion (seasonal)
